While at Dualchas Architects

This ruined steading in Speyside required a total renovation. The stonework was repaired and repointed. The slates were set aside and re-dressed. There were 2 large new openings but otherwise all the existing openings were glazed, new roof lights added to light the corridors and bathrooms and the existing levels maintained. The aim was ‘a lightness of touch’ with a limited palette of materials, some new oak joinery and a simple concrete fireplace.
