The Shed is one the most personal projects of MAFA as it is the house Mary built for herself in 2008. It is based on the robust agricultural sheds with a double layer of larch rain screen over fibre cement cladding. The ground floor has a large kitchen, dining and living space with 3 bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room off it. In the centre of the room is a 8kw woodburner placed on a concrete surround. The oak stair leads to a sitting room which captures the view of the Cuillins and up again to a study, bedroom and an dressing room and shower bathroom.

There are storm shutters, an air source heat pump, solar panels, a solar shade, a borehole and an outdoor shower. All designed for the constantly changing weather.
